Notice about holding The 3rd China International Conference on Digital City & China International Expo on Digital City Construction Technology and Equipment

Background:

In order to boost the digital city construction in China and promote the communication and application of digital city technologies, it is determined by Ministry of Construction P.R.China and Shenzhen Municipal People’s Government that The 3rd China International Conference on Digital City & China International Expo on Digital City Construction Technology and Equipment will be held on Sep. 21-23, 2007, in Shenzhen.

The conference aims to provide a platform for summarizing and communicating the latest development trend, successful cases and key technologies of digital city construction both at home and abroad; discussing the industrial mode of digital city, development way for common supporting technology of digital city; sharing experiences of IT application in urban planning and management, urban intelligent traffic development, digital community construction, and informatization of constructionenterprises.

All scientists, researchers, experts and engineers from universities, research institutes, consultant firms, industries and other institutions are welcome to participate in this conference.

Main content of the meeting

The theme is to summarize and communicate the latest development trend, successful cases and key technologies of digital city construction both at home and abroad; to discuss the industrial mode of digital city, development way for common supporting technology of digital city; to communicate experiences of IT application in urban planning and management, urban intelligent traffic development, digital community construction, and informatization of constructionenterprises.

The 3rd China International Expo on Digital City Construction Technology and Equipment will be held simultaneously. Research agencies in digital city construction field and well-known enterprises of related equipment manufacturing will be invited to attend the Expo, exhibiting their latest technologies and applications of digital city construction.

Topics

The conference seeks original and innovative papers about information technology developing and application in digital city construction. Papers that analyze problem areas and draw important conclusions from practical experience are especially welcome. All contributions are being solicited in areas including but not limited to:

• State policy and theory, digital city development at both home and abroad
• Information technology application/development in urban planning and construction
• Application and development of informatization in urban management
• Informatization of construction Enterprises
• Construction and development of intelligent traffic system
• Common supporting technologies of digital city
• Digital community technology and modern service industry

Call for symposium papers

All the papers contributed will be reviewed by the academic committee. An award will be given for outstanding papers at the conference. An extended abstract is required for the paper selection process. Abstracts should be written in English about 500 words, which need to clearly state the purpose, methods, results and conclusions of the work. Contact information is also required, followed by the abstract, including author name, title, affiliation; postal address, phone, fax etc. (see Appendix I ). The full paper should be no more than 4500 words and all contributions must be submitted to the organizing committee via email at digicity@szplan.gov.cn. All papers accepted will be published in the symposium proceedings formally.

Conference Language

Both Chinese and English will be used on the conference. Speakers could choose either language that they feel most comfortable in the presentation. And simultaneous translation services will be provided.
